The new IHK AusbildungsScouts

Our 2 e-commerce trainees took part in a training course together with trainees from various companies to become IHK AusbildungsScouts .

Training scouts are trainees from all training occupations in the IHK's area of responsibility who present their occupations to school classes in their region and give the pupils an understanding of their training.

The trainees visit a class in pairs for at least one lesson. They present their profession, how they got there, the content of the training and employment and career opportunities. The pupils can then ask their questions and talk to the training scouts.

The aim of the IHK project is to attract more young people to dual vocational training. The training scouts report on an equal footing, including about their day-to-day training and the advantages and challenges of their training period.
For BAUR, Jana and Kim will now also be involved in this project, both of whom will provide insights into their training as e-commerce clerks.

During the training course, Jana and Kim acquired important communication skills and learned how to present a training occupation to pupils in the best possible way.

Specifically, they looked at what successful communication looks like - for example, active listening and understandable language. Another important point was how they could present their own apprenticeship in a convincing way. To this end, they developed a presentation that shows their path from the search for a training position to their experiences during training and their prospects afterwards (conclusion, further training). They can then use this during school visits.

Finally, each student was able to present their presentation and receive constructive feedback.
