Internship in toy purchasing - an interview with Laura

Today we have the opportunity to introduce you to Laura. She is completing an internship in our toy purchasing department. In this interview, she talks about her experiences and what she particularly enjoys about her work.
Hi Laura, can you briefly introduce yourself?
Hello, my name is Laura, I'm 23 years old and I live in Kulmbach. After graduating from high school in 2020, I started studying to become a graduate administrative IT specialist at Hof University of Applied Sciences and dropped out after three semesters and a miserably failed math exam in March 2022. Since October 2022, I've been studying Integrative Health Promotion at the university in Coburg. In addition to my work and studies, I have been dancing for 20 years.

University or office?
A very difficult question! Especially now, after my internship semester. Both are nice. 😊
Get up early or late?
Definitely getting up early. 😊
Bookworm or series junkie?
Probably more of a series junkie, although a good book can also quickly cast a spell over me.
How did you come across BAUR?
Lots of happy coincidences 😊. I became aware of the job advertisement super spontaneously via Indeed and, after a lecturer once said "You will never find a job description that meets all the requirements, go out into the world with an open mind, apply and convince the managers. You can't get more than a "no"," I applied to BAUR.
What are your tasks and what do you like doing best?
I process product range-specific customer inquiries and provide support with the text and illustration of new articles. I also support the buyers in their day-to-day business as well as the planning department in procuring goods and maintaining delivery dates, checking these and following up with suppliers.
Which task have you found the most challenging so far? Were you able to master it well?
The first few weeks were super challenging, I didn't know the databases and had no previous contact with the subject matter. All my colleagues took me by the hand and gave me a great introduction to everything.
What's next for you after the internship?
I will continue to work as a student trainee in the toy purchasing department and will then start attending my lectures again in March. 😊
Is there anything else you would like to say?
I am delighted to be able to continue working for the company.
