16 young people started their apprenticeship at the BAUR Group on September 2, 2024. As part of the b.welcome days, they were given exciting insights into various areas of our company during their first week. In this blog post, we take a look back at the b.welcome days for you.
The first day was all about getting to know the BAUR Group. After the reception and official welcome by our Managing Director Stephan Elsner and HR Manager Juliane Klee, the trainees had the opportunity to get to know each other better over breakfast. Over the course of the day, they were given exciting insights into the BAUR Group, the history and the values of our company. Managing Director Achim Güllmann also warmly welcomed our new trainees and dual students and took part in the "Two lies and one truth" introductory game, followed by a presentation on cultural change, a workshop on wishes/fears/goals, a safety inspection and a round of activities.
Tuesday began in a relaxed manner for our newcomers in the home office. They were informed about the BAUR Group's sustainability strategy and learned interesting facts about the trainee folder. They were also allowed to get creative themselves as part of the so-called "Monster Challenge". The lunch break was followed by a yoga session and two presentations on the topics of data protection and information security.
The company rally took place on Wednesday, during which the new trainees and dual students were able to get to know the various areas of the BAUR Group - from IT to the photo studio to the Uselab. The teams then presented their results and were informed about their upcoming assignment in logistics. After these exciting program points, the participants had the opportunity to end the day together in the Schrepfersmühle.
On Thursday and Friday, our newbies experienced the logistics of BFS Baur Fulfillment Solutions in Weismain up close - and not just in theory, but also in practice. From incoming goods and order picking to returns and outgoing goods, they were hard at work everywhere.
On the final day, the focus was on the entire technological handling of day-to-day work. As part of this, the trainees and dual students learned everything they needed to know about formalities, the procedure for reporting sick, the content of the intranet, the master plan and Microsoft Viva Engage. After the lunch break, Office 365 and other important programs such as the VPN service FortiClient were presented. The b.welcome days 2024 ended with a mood survey and the final information on the first department day.
"My highlight of the welcome days was the logistics. It was very interesting to see all the returns and how much work is involved just because a person sends back their clothes or items of clothing. The many employees really have to do a lot, especially the early and late shifts. I have the greatest respect for these people because I couldn't do it for as long as they do." (Patrik Krajc, trainee IT specialist for system integration)
