From internship to permanent position: Sybille Beiß has been supporting BFS as Marketing Manager since 15.04.2024. Find out how she got there in this interview!
Hello Sybille, welcome to the BFS! Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hey! 😊 My name is Sybille, I'm 25 years old and I've been supporting BFS as Marketing Manager and future successor to Julia Carle-Scholz since April 15, 2024. I now live in the small but beautiful town of Bammersdorf near Eggolsheim, where I recently moved in with my boyfriend and our two cats Oscar and Kiki. My passions include acting, traveling and any form of work that requires creativity.
You were already employed by the BAUR Group before, weren't you?
You're right - I'm actually not completely unfamiliar with the BAUR Group😊. During my business studies in beautiful Coburg, I already completed a six-month mandatory internship at the BAUR Group. Back then, I worked in HR marketing and was also taken on as a working student after my internship. Maybe some of you know my face from Instagram, because I was responsible for social media management as a working student back then.
After about 1 ½ years as a working student, I unfortunately had to say goodbye in October 2023, as I was finishing my studies and was therefore no longer allowed to continue working as a working student. However, I didn't know at the time that the painful farewell to the BAUR Group would only be temporary 😊.
After my studies and my fantastic time in the BAUR Group, I decided to make my biggest dream of a longer trip come true. I spent a whole 4 ½ months skipping the cold winter in Germany and discovering the many adventures of Australia and Asia. I was able to visit a total of 9 countries during my trip. And then - in the middle of Vietnam - I suddenly received an inquiry that I hadn't expected: my former colleague Monja told me about the position of Marketing Manager and asked if I would like to come back. This was followed by job interviews in Vietnam and I finally received my confirmation in Cambodia that I would be able to support BFS in the future 💛.
What tasks will you be taking on in the future?
As my colleague Julia would describe it, I am responsible for the "glitz" in the marketing of our service products in the B2B business✨. Ultimately, it's about developing strategies to make BFS more visible as a service provider on the market and to make our services more attractive to potential customers. The exact tasks that await me in the future can look very different and I'm very excited to see what awaits me.

Hmmm... Not so easy! I'll try it with the first letters of my nickname:

What are characteristics that you don't like at all?
Communication and honesty are the be-all and end-all for me! So when I realize that I'm not being talked to openly or that people are talking about me behind my back, it really hurts me and I feel insecure. But I think everyone feels that way 😊.
What are your top 3 wishes on your bucket list?
1. Even more travel!
For now, I've definitely already fulfilled the biggest item on my bucket list with my 4½-month trip. But on my trip, I mainly learned that the world has soooo many more places to offer, all of which I still want to see! I've met so many amazing people during this time who live all over the world. Now I just need time to visit them all 😊.
2. To work as an extra in a film/series
As I mentioned at the beginning, one of my greatest passions is acting. In general, I'm super enthusiastic about film and television and how everything works on set. Being there live one day, for example as an extra in the background, is therefore another big dream of mine! To get closer to this dream, I registered on a website for extras. So far, however, I've only received requests for reality TV shows, for example... I don't really see myself there yet 😁.
3. Dubbing
I also have a passion for working with my voice due to my enthusiasm for the theater. I've probably loved imitating characters and disguising my voice since I was a child. Taking on a speaking role is therefore also at the top of my wish list!
Fun fact: I was able to get a little closer to my dream of a speaking role during my time as a working student at the BAUR Group 😍. For example, I was allowed to talk to the answering machines of our recruiters in the HR department. I was also allowed to record a text for a movie commercial.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
Thank you to all my former and current colleagues for allowing me to be a part of BFS! I still have to pinch myself sometimes in the morning because I can't really believe that I can be here again. THANK YOU🙏!
